What is the difference between a portable sink and a handwashing station?
There is no real difference, they are two names for the same thing: a freestanding unit that supplies fresh water, soap, and paper towels without connecting to plumbing. Some people call it a portable sink, others a handwash station.
Do portable sinks need a water or plumbing hookup?
No. Each station is fully self-contained, with an onboard fresh water tank and a sealed gray water tank. You can place one anywhere, indoors or outdoors, with no connection required.
How does the sink work without plumbing?
A foot pump draws water from the onboard fresh water tank to the faucet, so you get running water hands-free. Used water drains into a separate gray water tank that we empty during servicing.
Are handwashing stations required on construction sites?
Often, yes. OSHA requires washing facilities for workers who handle materials like paints, coatings, concrete, adhesives, or other substances where contaminants can be harmful, and in those cases soap and running water are needed, not hand sanitizer alone.
